be a role model
Are you passionate about your work in STEM and keen to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers? If so, we'd love for you to volunteer with us!
What's in it for you?
- A fun and rewarding opportunity to make a difference in young people's lives
- A chance to build your personal development and network
Volunteering makes a difference
We're looking for volunteers in these roles:
Judges for The Big Bang Competition
Help us find the next innovators, inventors and STEM superstars! As a STEM professional, use your expert knowledge to help us crown the next Big Bang UK Young Engineer, UK Young Scientist and UK Young Technologist of the Year, supported by Siemens.
You'll need to commit up to 8 hours over 2 weeks, between Wednesday 2 April and Thursday 10 April 2025. See what's involved in the full role description.
Applications close on 12 March 2025.
Volunteers at The Big Bang Fair
Inspire the next generation at The Fair! We're looking for scientists, engineers, technicians, and people who study or work in STEM jobs who are enthusiastic about what they do - whether you're an apprentice, student, graduate, career starter or professional with years of experience. The Big Bang Fair takes place from 17 to 19 June at the NEC in Birmingham. You don't need to join us for every day during The Fair, but will need to be able to volunteer for at least one full day during this time. See the exciting opportunities on offer in the detailed role description.
Applications close on 31 May 2025
Fancy doing both roles?
Good news, you can apply to be a judge AND a Fair volunteer, but you'll need to complete an application form for each role.
